All Chinese medicine practitioners at the Chinese Medicine Centre are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and hold a membership with the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA).

Registration of acupuncturists has been in Australia since 2012. A practitioner using the title Acupuncturist must have at least a four-year degree in Chinese medicine.

Jan Hilbert – Reg. Acupuncturist BHSc Acu, AACMA, AHPRA

Jan began his studies in Chinese medicine at the University of Technology Sydney, graduating in 2000 with a degree in acupuncture. He then continued his education in Germany, where he completed the Heilpraktiker license in 2002.

With over 22 years of clinical experience, Jan offers a deep and comprehensive approach to treating a wide range of health conditions. Fascinated by health and the causes of illness since an early age, he has spent many years exploring the connections between body, mind, and disease. His advanced training in the refined techniques of Japanese acupuncture has further enhanced his ability to deliver effective, individualized care.

For the past 20 years, Jan has also studied internal martial arts, including Qi Gong, Xingyi Chuan, and Bagua Zhang – disciplines he considers essential to his acupuncture practice. He believes that cultivating a deep internal awareness is key to truly listening to the pulse and understanding the heart of a patient’s being. When appropriate, he offers tailored health exercises for patients to continue their healing at home.

Jan is a registered acupuncturist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA). He is the co-founder of the Chinese Medicine Centre in East Fremantle, where he has been in practice since 2007.

He is fluent in English and German and has conversational knowledge of French.
